I picked up Deirdra on Friday morning. On the way to the airport a toll road immediately tested my backpacker resoluteness, (i.e. skinflintness,) against my desire to see my girl. –So it begins! Credit card ready, I set off.
The Oasis YHA in north Melbourne would be our base for a few days while Deirdra recovered from her jetlag.
We’d booked a double room to give us the space we needed to chill (and smooch) and when we rocked up back from an emotional reunion at the airport, it was still too early to check in. So, onto the 57 tram we went, through the avenues of a cool and chilly Melbourne …and the first thing we hit on … the famous Queen Victoria Market.
