TUES: After the quiet and inactivity of Nyepi, I decided this week i should get out and start seeing museums. The first, Museum Puri Lukisan, was almost entirely traditional Balinese painting. In retrospect, not my favorite museum, though it was a great introduction and some fine art -glad it was my first. All the plates were in English with the stories that the paintings depicted. I learned a LOT about bali-hindu mythology. It all reminded me of Rennaisance Christian art – same story, different artist. (not to oversimplify)
My first bright idea was to see 3 on tuesday. No. One a day is good. As there was mold growing on some of the mats in the frames, i am curious about their ideas of preservation.
