About diegotipacti

I'm Diego Tipacti, a filmmaker who is discovering a natural artistic beauty in real life stories. I always carry a camera with me, be it a still celluloid 35mm or a digital video camera. I have grown all my life with one in front of my eyes and today is only natural to consider it an extension of my being.

From my early childhood, I was introduced to the world of arts through my family. I continued my visual arts education through the early years of school and High School by attending Premier Art Programs in the United States such as Norland Arts Magnet Program and New World School of the Arts. I formalized my artistic education and desire to become an Auteur by complimenting my studies with a technical education in Film Production at Miami International University of Art and Design.

Years have given me much experience but not at the level that I expect from this scholarship. This is an opportunity that I’ve been looking for. Now, I stand still, focused and alert with gear in hand, ready to go, like a soldier is ready for battle but in my reality, ready to capture a story, shape it with guiding hands of experience and make a contributing work of art about life.

The 3-minute piece entitled "Left Ashore" is my proud work as an Auteur. This work was produced and shot entirely by me with a Panasonic DVX100a and SONY V1-U.
