I finally reached on the shore of Pondicherry famous Gandhi Beach after a three hours bus ride from Chennai.

The faint light of the sun setting and the sound of the waves   washed me off, of my tiredness.I could see the balloons flying off from the balloon seller, the varied colors of yellow and golden color balloons seems like a bulb hanging in the sky. I ran along the shore following the bulb, as if    iam their savior against the hard rock’s lying on the shore. I missed the bulbs, but felt hard to resist the smell of the roasted peanuts which awaits me. The peanuts were served in paper cones, served in paper cones, a favorite munch for many!! There is a special art in making the cone, I couldn’t take off of my eyes at the wonderful speed in which they roast the peanuts make the cone and put the peanuts in it.

As I dig my hand into the cone I could hear chanting of Jai Ganesh, and a very beautifully decorated Elephant was being taken on a walk by the mahout and the devotees of the elephant. I followed my way through the crowd and got blessings from her. Indeed a lively discovery of spiritual things.

Imagination drifted its way back again when  my I caught the sight of a  bridge  standing at the near  end of the bridge. Something about it was calm and melancholic. My curiosity ends when a local enlightened me that  it  is called suicide point where many lovers have end their life .Slowly the darkness covered up the lonely bridge and its many tales.

I left with a sigh yet holding the calmness of the bridge, heading my way to Pondicherry most famous Mission Street. The rickshaw ride lighted me with the Bharati Park, the Sacred Heart Church and the many vibrant coffee shops .The clean smooth road further instills me for a never ending ride .A cup of coffee at  Casablanca the modern face of Pondicherry   all in one store was refreshing enough. It truly reflects its caption “The world is yours”. I was awestruck by the crafts, silk scarves and the leather brand Hidesign made in Auroville.

So I've got my silk scarf on, tied in a loop around my neck , finally the smooth  lanes calling I breathe along with the silent breeze and the  waves  humming a nocturnal song I wrap to sleep .
