My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Zoltan Adrian, I am a 33-year old Hungarian in pursuit of my first true passion project: photography.
Photography has an odd place in my life, I keep returning to it and cannot let it go. Over the years I tried myself at many occupations. I am trained as a car mechanic and as an instructor of martial arts. I worked as a paperboy, a salesperson of adventure equipment and currently make a living from building and repairing bicycles. It was a long time before I admitted that those days are the most meaningful when I am taking pictures of life around me.
The pictures I take are time capsules of people and places. When I travel, tourist attractions interest me little. I am interested in the normal, business as usual, the way life is next door - or a thousand miles away. Sharing these moments with others through images which speak for themselves make all the waiting and the hassle worthwhile.
Although I learnt a lot from books, courses and even the internet, when I saw the opportunity to travel on assignment with an experienced travel photographer, my mind started to sizzle with all the things I could learn in a week. This would be a step towards my dream coming true.
