I have finished Cinematography College at the Sapientia University, but haven’t got my license yet because I was working on the documentary that’s trailer is attached. It is a very low budget documentary that follows a bike expedition from Cluj-Napoca to the Danube Delta and back covering 1588kms.
I was asked to make a film about the expedition, and I couldn’t refuse a challenge this big. I planned the movie without interviews, following the everyday life of the bikers, but I had to assume that it’s impossible to do for a 1 guy crew and changed the shooting style. When we got home I wrote a script and planned the interviews.
The greatest challenge was to exploit the last drop of energy and get always one step ahead of the bikers, even in the Delta, where even I had to ride, in the extremely hot temperature.
I grew up watching nature documentaries; they had a huge role in motivating me to attend film school. Unfortunately I don’t have the chance to get in the documentary industry, because there isn’t one in Romania. Currently I try making my live on freelancer websites and dream about making documentaries.
