Trip to Eua Island (Kingdom of Tonga)

The Tonga-trip was the beginning of the end of my three years abroad that i spent travelling. During my travels i started getting into photography and was amazed about how calming it is to be out there taking photos. No matter how dirty i might felt at the end of the day, lying in the tent and reviewing my pictures: finding only one good shot at least was as highly satisfying as the whole day might has been demanding. Tonga, and Eua in paticular were special. I was in a peculiar mood and those three days of wandering across the island were underlining as well as counteracting my feelings. Coming across this mixture of simplicity, amazingly friendly people and the constantly present nature was just overwhelming. I was enjoying as much freedom as i could possibly think of, feeling a bit like being a loner and at the same time being welcome anywhere, anytime.
I guess i like it simple. But in everyday life it's hard to keep track and move in one direction. Trips like the one to Eua always sort of forced me to leave unnecessary stuff behind (i should at least have brought a sleeping bag..) and i guess that's when you also start freeing your mind & focus on fun stuff. like photography.
