My name is Yomibel Diaz. I am a 22 year old student. I was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, moved to NY at the tender age of 8. Here I was exposed to the beauty of the city, something I could only but capture with my mind just until I was introduced to the art of photography at Cardinal Hayes High School. I believe I should be chosen because I fell in love with art since the age of 10, I've been expanding my knowledge of perspective and color to use it correctly in my photos. I am very ambitious as I am working my way towards a future in photojournalism, which is going to make this opportunity a magnificent experience. I have a lot of potential and being mentored by a current Nat Geo photographer is only going to put my potential skills to the test. Being a National Geographic photographer is my dream job; which I will work to obtain in the future, when I'm more experienced. I work day in and day out to shoot some of the best photos I possibly can. Through my work of art I tend to show the audience my personal beliefs, ideas, and also how I view this world we live in. This makes me the most qualified person to be chosen. Now its all in God's and your hands. Thank you!
