I'm a gypsy.
I am Marielle Kristine Dela
Cruz, a 22 year old advertising graduate from Manila, Philippines.
Family and friends call me Yelle. I am currently an Accounts Trainee for a
public relations agency. During my free time I usually sketch, take
photographs, and write stories. I love to travel, meet all sorts of people, and
learn new things. I love adventures and I will try anything at least once.
I always see things with the
eyes of a child. I love to tell stories through photographs and I love sharing
them with other people. Photographs freeze an exact moment in time that you can
never really go back to. When I see old photos I took, I am immediately
reminded of that certain place, that certain person, and it recreates the
experience. I can taste the food, smell the aroma, hear the music, and feel the
textures as if it was happening again.
I love to experiment with both
digital and analogue photography, different angles, camera settings and techniques.
Why play it safe and settle for good shots when you can brave the storm and
take great photos instead?
I would love to capture the
beauty of the world through photographs that could last for generations. The
photos would live to tell their story long after I am gone. I would like to
take people on a journey and move them to tears, laughter, excitement, or fear.
I hope to inspire people to see and appreciate beauty in all domains of life
–from nature, to people, to all forms of art, and even day-to-day experiences. I
want to raise awareness and rouse people to do something about global issues we
are facing today. I hope to make a difference in the world one photograph at a
time.
