I am Xuandrea Tullie. These five photos were taken in Eihdhoven for Dutch Design week. I am a junior at Webster University Leiden the Netherlands. I spent my first two years of college at the University of Missouri St. Louis where I majored in Japanese and then photography. choose to move myself and my studies to Webster University Leiden to chase my dreams of becoming a film maker and photographer. I work hard every day learning all the techniques, equipment, and necessary skills to become a camera operator and photographer. I am determined to work for National Geographic; with them I will devote myself to exposing peoples’ minds to science, other cultures, and the unknown. This is the way I would like to positively contribute to society and try and make a difference. This opportunity to work hands on in the field with a type of mentor would be ideal and considered a dream come true.
I discovered my passion for photography while on a summer field trip course to Japan at the beginning of my sophomore year in the summer of 2010 .The objective of this field trip was to visit a select few respected Japanese Companies, but my personal objective was to visit a few of my Japanese friends and achieve school credit at the same time. One of these respected companies was Canon. I was a little bit excited to visit this company because I had brought along my Holga toy camera, which I had freshly picked up as a hobby. A week after my trip I had my film developed. The pictures I took made me fall in love with my memories, the country, and cameras. This is when I realized my passion in life was photography and immediately I invested in a Canon SLR.
