My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

When it comes to photography, I incorporate it into my everyday life and has ever since become a natural habit. I remember my dad always taking pictures of me and my brother and it bared many memories and stories. Every time I looked at it, I get a sense of happiness and excitement. I started borrowing his camera and what I see, I took. It didn't even have to be anything specifically, as long as it looked interesting. I find passion in learning about cultures and languages. I enjoy documenting my travels, specifically China and Japan. China was a culture shock to some, but for me, it was exciting. I wasn’t accustomed, but it made it all more exciting. In Japan, I was on my own most of the time, venturing the streets by myself. I remember walking the whole of Tokyo for hours without being tired. As you step into Kyoto, the old Japan is seen, filled with Geisha’s; a beautiful romantic scene. How far photography takes me is where I want to go. I want to capture a journey's foot prints; I want to share its experiences. I want to learn as knowledge for me is knowledge. I have not lived, if I do not know of the life out there. Photography is therapeutic for me.
