Secondary Highway

I haven't had the chance to travel far in a really long time, but I'm fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful parts of Canada; Calgary, Alberta, an hour's drive from the Rocky Mountains,
When I do venture to the mountains, I like prefer to go to Canmore, over the more commercial, and popular Banff. Canmore has small town charm, you can peruse unique shops full of items from local artisans, and look up to see the majestic mountains in the background. While there, I recommend going to The Grizzly Paw, it's always busy, they brew their own beer, and a small selection of soft drinks.
I take the secondary highway, that's littered with points of interest along the way. There's a rail yard, a power station on the water, multiple parks, and mountains you can hike, the beautiful Sebee Dam, and an abandoned building. The views are spectacular.
The last time I went was with a group of @yycinstameets members, it was a great day of exploration, beautiful scenery, and friendship. You can parcel any of points of interests for an excursion worth your while, without going all the way to Canmore. There really is something for everyone along the way. We pulled over for photos in may spots, enjoyed the peacefulness of Sebee Dam, with it's incredible blue green water. You can walk a circuit around the dam, that's surrounded by mountains. And when I had enough nature, I took a small group to the abandoned building with me. The roof is partially collapsed, and the walls are covered in graffiti, offering a chance at some urban exploration, in the middle of a field. The sunlight streaming in danced across discarded spray cans, and made for some fantastic photos. We ended our adventures with burgers in Canmore.
