My Scholarship entry - Mesmerizing India

India | Monday, January 14, 2013 | 5 photos

I can still remember the first time I was holding a camera. It was in my 12th year and it was for a school assignment on 'nature'. All geared with my disposable camera, I discovered passion that never left me, rather grew stronger. When I am with my camera, there is this indescribable feeling of merging with the surrounding, paying attention to every little details, finding beauty in everything and everybody. Once I focus my attention on a subject, nothing else exists. I could remain at the same place for hours, trying each and every perspective, different settings to capture a better shot. I love travelling despite my busy work schedule. While travelling I make sure I explore offbeat places that will tell me more about a place, its people and culture than the regular touristy recommendations. I have reached a level where I would love to take my photography too a deeper level, and professional level would be a dream come true! What's best than having the privilege of being mentored by the renowned J. Edwards in gaining invaluable insights in technique? My love for travel photography and exploring new civilization cannot be more appropriate for this assignment in Oman!
