Zoom in - Another Auckland

New Zealand | Monday, January 14, 2013 | 5 photos

I feel frustrated many times, when that photo I dream about doesn't look alike the one I finally get. To me, one of the most attractive things about photography is the chance to communicate and share: the majesty of a landscape, the beautiful wrinkles on a face, the ridiculous, the odd, the perfect imperfection. Saying with pictures is so much challenging than saying with words! Where words define and crop, images are polysemic. And it is as hard as thrilling looking for (or finding) the angle, the light, the context, that says what we need to say. Taking pictures is sharing our point of view, but also opening it to the sensitivity of the one who is diving into them. I feel photography as a way to stop the universe. As a way of saying "Hey! Look! This is happening here & now!" (and here & now becomes forever). All those things, people and places we once took pictures of, become everlasting.
I'm soon facing a new adventure: sailing Caribbean -and maybe the whole world- on our boat . I'm urged,in need to get trained to capture all that beauty that is out there waiting. I feel is the most fare thing to do to the beauty itself and to those who might not have the chance to stare at her.
