The Big Wild Goose Pagoda, also called Daci'en Pagoda, is a famous Buddhist pagoda located in south of Xi’an considered one of the cradles of Chinese civilization, lying at the eastern end of the Silk Road, the former capital of China, was the seat of the Emperor for more than 10 dynasties and over 1000 years. Every object unearthed in that historic city can tell us a fascinating story.
Big wild goose pagoda situated in the south of Xi’an, highly recommend this for Xian travel visually stunning, a long history, and splendid water fountain/park. Pagoda surrounded by large green park with lots of little interesting places to view and rest. The water area is a huge attraction for the locals and a great place to get some wonderful photographs of local children playing.
I do enjoy the Chinese culture and I love visiting so many places in China, such as the Beijing, Xi’an, Shanghai, etc.. As one of the symbolic buildings of the ancient city of Xi' an, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda has been a place for traditional temple fairs and scholars' gatherings since Tang Dynasty, so I had made it as the place to visit when I planed to travel to China.
One of the most popular tourist attraction is surely the dayan pagoda northern square, where has the largest musical fountain plaza. Tourists can enjoy very splendid big wild goose pagoda water show everyday at the square, the show is worth to watch, especially at night. Illuminated in the glow from backlights, the fountain show looks very colorful and spectacular. For the Big Wild Goose Pagoda Square is free for locals, so there are huge crowds of people to watch the water show every night, I think you should arrive at square early to enjoy the water show better.
Walk to the south of big wild goose pagoda square, there are Monk Xuanzang Statue and another culture theme park - Grand Tang Dynasty Ever-bright City. It is said the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is originally built for collecting countless Buddha sutras brought by Xuanzang. In the west of square, there is a area lined with featured shops and restaurants. Besides, the Daci’en Temple and the Shaanxi Opera Garden to the east.
East of the square, is a area highlighting the local feature of Shaanxi province "Drama Panorama". There are opera painted sculptures, copper reliefs of local opera. It's extremely beautiful and incredibly ancient, and you feel as though you are a part of history while you walk - very therapeutic.
