With the width territory, it’s a reasonable if Republic of Indonesia consist of lot different culture. One of them is language. Based on Wikipedia sites, there is more than 700 different language in Indonesia. In one big area example : Sundanese. Sundanese is not an city, but most people in West Java province, Indonesia talks Sundanese each other. And we can learn impolite Sundanese and polite Sundanese. For traveler, it could be challenging to learn and try this language to local communities.

One day, we travelling to Labuan Bajo, harbor city in Flores, Indonesia. With the very different physical forms, local communities assume that we are not Indonesian. After we talk use Indonesia language, as formal Indonesia Language they realized we are Indonesian too. Even thought we both talk Indonesia we realized that we use different a grammar. They had their own and we use our.

For me, travelling is more than just visiting an attraction, take an images and then upload it to social network sites or create a notes / blogs and share it to others. To keep our contact with local communities is more challenging and sometimes language is another challenge.

“Kamu” is Indonesian language means “you”. “Anjen” is Sundanese and “Elu” is Indonesia slang, both work means same as “Kamu”. One day , i sent an short message to my new friends from Tasikmalaya, West Java Province, Indonesia. She talks Sundanese daily and he protested cause I’m using “elu”. So i let she know that i’m talk slang daily. To minimize that, i have try to use Sundanese, formil and slang. Know i’m speaks 3 different langguage to her.

Traveling give me a good story to learn others.
