About wingspan
When I was a fairly young child, I had few friends. One loyal friend that was always with me from the very beginning was writing. I loved to write anything from stories about spaceships and dragons, to interviews I would give myself while pretending to have won an award for a courageous feat.
I'm not sure I've accomplished many courageous feats since that time, but the number of friends that I have made has most definitely increased. And for me, there is no better way to make new friends - or enjoy old ones - than with some good food.
If I won the travel writing scholarship, I would try and make many diverse friends, share their food (hopefully they let me) and write about it - bringing my oldest friend and my newest friend together.
