My Scholarship entry - Another Day, Another Protest

As far back as I can remember I have always been passionate about art in all it's forms. I grew up drawing, painting and sculpting but in recent years I have spent a lot of time traveling and during my travels, I have found photography to be the perfect outlet for my creativity. I find joy in trying to capture the landscapes before me, excitement in trying to capture the atmosphere of the events I experience and beauty in trying to capture those candid moments of the people and environment around me.

Initially I relied heavily on an eye for composition and aesthetics, developed from my background in art. However, with each trip I take, I try to push myself further both creatively and technically - learning through experimentation and a lot of trial and error. I would love the opportunity to develop my photography skills while on assignment and learn from Jason Edwards; to challenge myself by observing Jason, gaining feedback, sharing ideas and pushing myself further; to ultimately be able to do what I love every day - expressing my creativity and vision through photography.
