Hello,
My name is Ella Bryant, I am 21 years old and have been passionately fascinated by photography ever since I was given my first camera at age 8.
As a kid, I would look through Mum and Dad's Nat Geo magazines in awe of the incredible photos and I always promised myself that I would be there one day, taking those photos as a professional myself.
This is one of the main reasons why I was so overwhelmed with excitement when I stumbled across this scholarship. For a number of reasons I have put my creative half to one side and have gone on to study Nursing, which I had assumed would satisfy me in terms of it being such a selfless and honorable profession (particularly after travelling through rural Cambodia where I was deeply affected by the ill health of the people, particularly children) but since beginning the course I have realised that taking photos, capturing moments in time and being able to convey emotion through pictures is what I love,it is what I have always loved and it is what I want to spend my life learning about so I suppose when I found this Scholarship I saw it as a sign that I should follow my heart and take a risk because I don't have forever, I have right now.
