My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
USA | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 5 photos
Does a photograph represent the ethos of a community, culture, or country?
Can a photograph influence, incriminate, or idealise?
Will a photograph be remembered?
These are the questions, I asked myself every time I pick up my camera, because I know, if I'm ever published my photograph will have encompassed these qualities and become immortal.
With a camera as my witness, I choose what it will see.
With these questions in mind, I'm sure I'm on the right path.
This path has led me to pursue this impetuous passion by studying journalism/photo journalism so I could make this obsession a career.
This enthusiasm has taken me to the Serengeti, the Amazon, the Rockies, and remote Australia in pursuits of wildlife, the environment and adventure.
Photography is my interpretation of the world.
At 23, I've put everything into trying to make photography a career through internships such as Australian Geographic Magazine, newspapers, and freelancing.
However, despite my relentless attempts, I haven't broken the ice.
The opportunity has not been there and seen me into a sales career.
But, I will still continue to take stories from around the world.
Will you begin my story?
