My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
China | Sunday, December 16, 2012 | 5 photos
I am a 3rd year law student from Malaysia studying in the UK. I have been travelling all my life, since the age of 6 my parents have brought me on many trips. As of 18 they decided I was old enough to travel by myself. While backpacking around South East Asia, I did not own a camera then, and that was the biggest regret I have till this day. When I got home I immediately bought myself a camera and since then it has been a huge passion. I enjoy travelling by myself, because not many share the passion of photography, and would be bored of waiting while I get the shot. Since I am studying in the UK, the whole of Europe is much more accessible and I have been to many countries around to take picture, eg Spain, France, Portugal and the Netherlands. My most recent trip to China, left me amazed by the difference from the general stereotype that everyone has the impression of. What I thought would be a great city with the technologies of the world, was extremely wrong when we got to Yunnan province, a smaller city slightly north of Burma. The chinese minorities, the harsh untamed natural beauty caught me by surprise, and I would like to share this different side of China with everyone.
