My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Sweden | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 4 photos
At the age of 7 my first camera was the prehistoric Ricoh L20. Taking an interest in photography as I got older, people were surprised by the angles/depth I would capture effortless. Yet it wouldn’t become a passion until my early 20s. An exchange in Europe gave me the chance to visit exciting places from big cities to small fishing villages. My passion to be behind the camera resurfaced. I would wander the streets of ParisPragueHowthePompeii looking to connect to the city beyond the touristy. Finding back alleys/unbeaten paths would lead to the most stupendous views/perspectives of the city that I wouldn't have known. I found the perfect angle to capture just the BigBen through a boulevard of trees. After months of travel I had 6000 pics. Attempting to select the best 100 to create a wall was difficult. But, whenever I walk by it my desire to travel and be behind the camera is excited. If chosen for this scholarship I would relish the chance to be mentored/learn from someone whose approach to photography is similar to my own. Capturing not only what is beautiful but a piece of the history/culture Seemingly beyond my dreams to work with NG, this opportunity would bring me closer.
