Cambodian hot-air balloon

CAMBODIA | Tuesday, 26 May 2015 | Views [181] | Scholarship Entry

After abusing technologies and metropolitan welfare , two years ago I catapulted in the village of Kran Tachan, Takeo province.
It should be an experience of voluntary service, it would have to materialize the possibility of helping the next , instead They were helping me .
I live in a metropolis , where to put in touch with nature I need to take the car! when I was in Cambodia my frantic search for green lands and clean air ended and I wished to meet my basic instinct to walk barefoot on a fascinating warm and soft soil, spotted by roots. There, nothing can hurt you if not a twig .
That morning I just wanted to move my lesson from the small building to the courtyard .
That morning the children I took care would have to build colorful hot air balloons made of paper pulp . In the capital , Phnom Penh , I bought everything they need , but when we found ourselves in the effort to build effective these hot air balloons, arose a huge problem:
“Teacher, what is a hot-air balloon?”
After showing them what it was I realized that children continued to laugh out loud because they could not understand why someone should need an hot air balloon!
I had to think about it a lot, the balloon that I have always associated with the book " Le Tour du monde en quatre-vingts jours" is just something very beautiful and unnecessary for children who are used to the beauty of lotus and of the stars in a sky undisturbed by artificial lights .
“ The balloon is used to look at the world from a different perspective . do you see the trunk of this tree ? If we had a hot air balloon we could see the summit of the tree; if we had a hot air balloon we could greet the birds in flight and watch the rice fields from above " I said in one breath.
those children did not understand how important it was to look at things from a different perspective. until then I had not even realized how important it was to look at things from a different perspective.
