My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Worldwide | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 | 5 photos

Being very passionate about photography, I have been spending a lot of time on photography for last few years. A photograph should make one feel like being part of the frame- that is my perception of photography. I evaluate a photo by means of its liveliness. An engineer by profession and currently in UK, I am originally from India.

Coming from a wonderful land of rain and lush greenness, the nature around always laid beautiful frames in me from childhood. I am from Kerala, southern part of India - where god gifted nature six different seasons with thin lines of transition between them. A summer with trees full of yellow mangoes, followed by monsoon which literally pours water on you for three months. Then it comes the spring with green blades of grass and blossoms around you. By the time the flowering season is over it comes second season of rain; this time not so heavy but with thunderstorms and lightening on the sky. Then it is winter which is not very cold by its own, but clear blue sky and the wind along the tree tops surely make it unique. Yes, we have then the autumn when the leaves falls and the new ones come without much delay. These transitions of seasons stayed in mind as colourful pictures from childhood.

Now in England, again this transition of seasons attracts me. As I write, it is now autumn here. Trees started shedding leaves; that too in lovely orange and red colors. Walkways are full of leaves. Nice little squirrels running behind one another on the ground in lovely sunlight, magpies and pigeons flying around, some other birds getting ready for a migration up in the air – it is awesome to see nature in autumn. I spent some time in Heaton Park near Manchester yesterday to capture some of these beautiful moments. Submitting the same for scholarship.
