Local Legend - Know Thy Neighbour

The idea was to hone in on a fellow Welllingtonian; get to know a part - or person - of my city that I had previously been unaware of. While I could have talked to someone who'd obviously have a story to tell (an MP; a beggar), I wanted to pick someone who seemed like an everyday local, and yet had caught my eye - for whatever reason. It's almost easy to approach strangers when you're overseas - you can don your traveller's hat, but in anyone's hometown it's not really the done thing, so it's a little sad how connection is more the exception than the rule. I have never edited or uploaded anything in my life. This year I realised documentaries were my thing; social issues interest me; as does travel. Winning this scholarship is not at all likely (even if "All dates are subject to change if necessary in WorldNomads.com discretion"), but I appreciate the opportunity. It was nice to have a project to work on for a few weeks, with engaging premises. (Although I did have a good cry when the screen told me my work wasn't in the right format). But for what it's worth, I would love to just be considered after my file's converted to a "wmv". That would mean a great deal.
