My Photo scholarship 2011 entry
Vanuatu | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 | 5 photos
These photos were taken in Vanuatu, an amazing place in the South Pacific. Spread amongst the many islands there are countless unforgetable natural and cultural treasures that once experienced will remain with you forever: 'kastom' villages, blue holes, active volcanoes... just to name a few.
I was born in Brazil and I now live in Australia. My passion for photography and travel go hand in hand. In fact, I believe they complement each other in a perfect way.
Photography makes me slow down and see details and things that a traveller might miss.
Travel is for me a way of seeing and trying to understand a bit more about this remarkable planet we live in. In a way I few blessed when I am allowed to witness and document different cultures and beautiful landscapes.
The camera is the thread that connects me to these different cultures. It oftens helps me approach and interact with local people in a way that would not be possible without it.
And at the end of the journey, each image is just 'the tip of the iceberg' - a reminder of this amazing world that surrounds us.
And hopefully it will leave you wanting for more...
