monday blues, boring lectures my left brain was dying in the absence of enthu in my life.It seemed like a perfect reason to run out of the clogged city. A hike down SH17 seemed ideal!
Living in a society which breaths on inhibitions , i wasn't very sure on being allowed to go on a road trip . Damn right i was.I had a heated argument with my mom,and what followed this row of disagreements is me being allowed to go!
Wind in my hair, yearning in my heart ,i was all set for the trip.Sun rose above the horizon with great pose and its boastful pride. It painted my face with an unusual hue of orange and filled my heart with a golden warmth.Indeed i had missed a lot, being a night person.Drowsy faces ,honking buses, dust everywhere ,alas i missed the boring lectures.Maybe i was in for a surprise!
The bus drove past the green paddy field, they were a visual treat. One could possibly identify 10 shades of green in this row of land .How could i not mention the scarecrows ,farm houses and the white cranes which were distinct to this area.Soon we began to feel the heat.
It was well past 12 and we stopped at a shady motel for lunch.Ambience is something that was alien to this restaurant but, hospitality is what it sustained on.We were served biryani,an indian delicacy, which is an evolved sister of flavored rice. The moment a morsel hit my taste buds,i was teleported to heaven. What could a few grains of 10 mm long do to a person?bam! it reflected my life.
The aroma hit me like a storm of insects that would destroy crops,in my case it did halt the functioning of my senses. The minty taste, flavored rice, the tender and succulent meat ,all the masalas(flavoring agents ,widely used in my subcontinent) were distinct yet complimented each other beautifully, rendered a mesmerising taste to the biryani.I was in trance, i could not think of anything but the taste and warmth it lent. This is when i realised what was meant by "eating your hearts content".Time passed real quick, and it was time i started travelling back home.Should i leave this biryani?
I have been on innumerous road trips and have eaten a lot of biryani, but there was something unique about this trip is .This freedom and independence was new to me and probably struck a chord with me.The urge to explore the world on my own was always a dream and this laid a blanket of confidence for this dream. Most importantly, exploring oneself is what the journey of life is about and i have started mine.
