My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I have been privileged to travel the world quite extensively and recently explored my own country on a 3 month trip to get to know off the beaten track places. I always take hundreds of pictures from many angles as I attempt to take my friends from Sri Lanka to various parts of the world through my own eyes. I write for a local news paper with remote places within Sri Lanka and the article has gained popularity as people appreciate my original work. Working with Jason will teach me better “composition” & “framing” techniques to promote Sri Lanka better. I strive to take good pictures and on many occasions wake up early and wait patiently just to get good shadows.
As part of the corporate social responsibility of my own budget travel company we support a school in a remote area in Sri Lanka. I believe the experience in Oman will give me useful knowledge that I can impart to the kids in this school as I intend on facilitating photography training sessions, after hours to these underprivileged kids among a number of other skills they will be trained on.
I hope to one day have my own guide book specializing in Sri Lanka and help travellers see Sri Lanka in the cheapest possible manner.
