My life until now has been preparing me for telling stories, of this I am certain. As a kid I spent the majority of my time creating fantastic worlds in which I adventured. Any air-time I had on home videos was spent telling wild tales of adventure.
As I began to study the narrative form, first in theatre, literature and finally in motion picture, I knew I was meant for this.
Currently, I am an aspiring filmmaker and a recent graduate from college. I worked on several films (both cinema and documentary) where I learned about the craft of story through motion picture.
When I heard about this opportunity to travel to Australia and tell this story, I was immediately excited. I spent 4 months in Australia (NSW) and New Zealand on a study abroad trip during college. While there, I spent majority of my time spending time with and hearing stories from aboriginal people. Learning from this experience, I had an opportunity to work on a project with a professor from my university on a documentary about Native Americans in Oregon, USA. Needless to say, I learned so much from this experience.
I certainly have the schema for a project like this as well as hunger to learn more.
