So I've been given this spectacular opportunity by my workplace, Ivy Tech Community College, to lead a contingent of travelers to Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand) this summer. I've been preparing from before I even found out that this opportunity had been extended to me. And now I'm a little more than a month away from the actual trip, teaching a preparatory course and gearing up.
My assumption is that there aren't many others who describe themselves the way I do way I do who are traveling through Southeast Asia. Maybe I'm wrong, but I want to see how others like me are approaching the locations, cultures and peoples I'll be encountering. How are we latinas? How are we simply human beings?
This blog is one of several methods of documentation of this trip. All will have personal value, but I hope the items I share with you here will also have public value.
