My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I started off simple - a Nokia N73 with a 3.2 mpx camera clicking photos of friends.
6 years, random cameras (own, and borrowed), and 15 countries later I sit today, looking back at all the pictures I clicked just like that. It never deterred me that I mostly had a camera phone or my iPod or just borrowed a friend's DSLR when I saw something amazing. I seldom edit my pictures; I believe in capturing the essence of the scene right then and there.
And it's in these countless good, shaky, amazing photographs that I captured my travels, my cultural interactions. My understanding of people and places, in person. My quest, my cultural immersion. The one common ground was my thirst to travel - my Wanderlust - which propelled me to cross those barriers, keep walking forward, getting to know the world for myself with my eyes, and my camera's.
A photographer, I think, should never limit her/himself because of lack of equipment. If you have the right "feel" for it, you've got it right, and that is one thing that makes me special. We can't plan life; beautiful photography is all in that one moment when you just know you want to capture it, save it, cherish it, and share it with the world.
