A young boy is playing with a plastic bottle after having been standing in line for over two hours with his family. On October 28 people come from all over the country to visit the Maximon altar in San Andrés Itzapa. Most are Christian. "God comes first, then Maximon," a young woman, who took a 2,5 hour drive from Guatemala City to visit the altar, says. "It's an old tradition from the Mayas, and in the end both God and Maximon are about love, so I don't see the problem. Love is all that matters."
