Colours Of Costa Rica

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Costa Rica | Saturday, January 12, 2013 | 5 photos

I have been photographing for 3 years now, and I have enjoyed every minute of it! I have some goals when I am out with my camera - to tell a story and to capture a moment that is either rarely seen or unusual.

I mainly photograph wildlife and landscapes. Through my wildlife photography, I aim to shed light on another passion of mine, wildlife conservation. By photographing common, rare and endangered animals, I then use the photos to express to others the importance of preserving the environment. I like to capture wildlife in an unusual action or going about their natural ways to truly show how amazing they are.

I have travelled to South Africa to photograph endangered penguins and Great White Sharks while working on a conservation project. This trip was the defining point of a life long love of wildlife and photography.

Last year, I spent 3 months living in a jungle in Costa Rica on a wildlife conservation project. The animals and landscapes that I captured were awe inspiring. The colours and variety that I saw everyday changed me to be a better person.

I am set to study wildlife biology and conservation and will use my photos to inspire the world for a positive change.
