Today resolved a huge frustration for us. We haven't been able to find a piano for Tom's practice. After visiting music shops, contacting university music departments and community halls and seeking help from tourist info and libraries with no success, we finally found a piano on the third floor of one of the city shops. It is usually used by the examination board. The hire fee was minimal and we enjoyed the most wonderful hour! Tom was obviously enjoying himself, and because we had the whole hour, we just had fun. Ian met us in town and took Hamish for the hour. We can now contact the Suzuki teacher and begin lessons again. It was a seemingly little problem, but it's not being able to solve the little things that makes you feel the worst.
Yesterday's great activity was our first swimming lesson with the boys'swimming teacher at the International Pool. The boys loved her and I found it very pleasant to just sit and watch someone else engage with them. The pool is so high tech, there's a button at the side that raises and lowers the floor of the pool so that the depth matches the height of the children! We now have a schedule of lessons set up to match our travel times.
Í've also done a couple of aerobics classes at the gym which is part of the pool complex. It's been great to enjoy the mood boost that an hour's exercise creates.
We are heading off tomorrow for 5 days at a house in New Quay, a small town on the coast between Cardigan and Aberytwyth (at least I can pronounce Cardigan!). We've arranged a house with 3 bedrooms to give us all a bit more space for s few days.
