About treasure
self portrait
I am a woman, who has a very active life style. I hold a full time position, as Shift Lead, for a large pharmacy retail company. To fine a harmonious combination of daily living, I enjoy the activities of sports and my great thrirst for acquiring knowledge, in the fine art, of creating images, by appling ink and acrylic paint to a blank canvas or composing a colorful story through the eye of the view finder.
Approximately two years ago, I wanted, to add a new artistic skill, to my tool box, I returned, to the local Community College in Muskegon, Mi. and attended photography courses that was being offered.
I entered a new world that I explored with a 35mm camera that contained black and white film and the techniques used in the dark room. My Professor introduced me to many works created by Dorothea Lange, Irving Penn and Emmet Gowin. In this introduction, I discovered a new passion, to create images linked to the real world that represents the imagination and thought, with a strong sense of connection to the subject.
I have limited knowedge in the techniques of the camera. I believe through continiuous practice and instruction, I will develop the strong skills, of a photographer and the ability to convey a story written in light, that will allow a individual to have its own interpertations.
I believe with further instruction, I will find a subject that I can elevate beyond my perceptions and emotions and produce images that is more than salable art, but will inspire peoples awareness and conservation.
