My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Papua New Guinea | Friday, July 5, 2013 | 5 photos
My name is Alistair White. I was born in Secunderabad; India and moved to Melbourne; Australia when I was 4 years old with my mother, father and two older brothers.
After picking up my first camera, I was the always the one wanting to take the photo attempting to capture a different perspective of things. I may be walking the laneways of Melbourne, hiking through the jungle or camping by the beach, nonetheless I am continually inspired by the beauty our planet offers in the simplest of ways. Every time I venture out my eyes are continuously in search of the perfect shot. It was through my travels to South East Asia and Papua New Guinea that truly opened up my eyes. It was here I discovered I gained the most satisfaction being able to tell a story of their lives and the world they live in.
My future goal is to be a part of an expedition and maybe even lead my own one day. The photos taken I would publish into a book with part of the proceeds being put towards humanitarian aid. It is only in the last 2-3 years that I now understand and know what I love shooting and this is why I feel given this opportunity I would be able to showcase my ability while fulfilling a dream.
