The little Earth globe

After ending my trip through Portugal this April, I’ve decided to spin the little Earth globe from my working table, and to see where the next trip will be. When I opened my eyes, my finger was showing a little point somewhere into Mediterranean Sea. It was Mallorca, the largest island in the Balearic Islands archipelago. In our days, there a lot of iron birds flying there, I’ve chosen the wings of a seagull, called Boeing.
The sun was disappearing into the water when I arrived at Palma de Mallorca airport. The trip started in old Palma. In the colors of the dusk, I was contemplating the magnificent La Seu Cathedral. While I was walking down the small streets, full of shops, restaurants and cafés, my eyes could see its enormous proportions and elegance from anywhere. I met a gorgeous black cat on my way. She meowed at me, I asked: What do you want? and with this, the conversation ended. I continued to walk in silence, thinking about a place to stay overnight. The cat followed me, and suddenly she stopped in front of a bar, and started again to meow at me. I entered there to get a drink and to find out if there are any hostels around or a camping. Call it serendipity, or coincidence, but there was taking place a CS meeting, where locals and international travelers were sharing their experiences.
The next day, in the morning, I was in the South-East part of the island, in Cala Santanyi climbing on a cliff with significant amount of water underneath it. After some jumps, the island was calling for me, to discover, explore it. I’ve hitchhiked back to Palma and took the famous train to Sóller -a beautiful small town, famous for its orange plantations and areas of ancient olive trees. I’ve decided to take a walk to Port de Sóller through a small part of the Cultural Landscape of Serra de Tramuntana. After 2 hours, I started to understand that I have no idea where I was going to. The absence of signs was more than a sign to me. Guided by intuition and by the sound of the waves, I’ve found the way to the port. I spent the next hours watching the greatest show of the Earth – sunset, eating tapas and drinking Mallorcan wine.
I spent the night somewhere close to Valldemossa village. In that dazzling night, from my sleeping bag, I was gazing at the stars and listening what was whispering the breeze to me. I was sure that I can hear the Chopin Nocturnes.
On the next day, I found out that in that picturesque village, Polish composer F. Chopin lived for some months.
