The three photos have chosen are from Angkor Wat in Cambodia. There is no denying Angkor Wat is a breathe-taking and magical place in of itself. When I arrived early one morning intent on seeing the sunrise, tourists from all over covered nearly every inch of the grounds; their true numbers hidden in the darkness. My travel mates and I found a little perch to rest on and waited for the sun. The display to come was nothing that could be described in words. The visual images of the sun rising over Angkor Wat tell something words would always fall short in capturing.

The three images I have chosen tell the story of the beautiful Angkor Wat sunrise; the beginnings of light that show the first image of Angkor Wat in the distance, the second, the even light which brings out the details of the main building and the third picture exposes the final image of Angkor in all of its majestic beauty. The ability to share the experience of watching Angkor Wat come alive with the sunrise is an amazing opportunity; people never having the opportunity to see this magical place in person can pseudo experience it through photos.

Considering this, I believe I should be chosen because I am passionate about photography and would relish the opportunity to be chosen to be in the company of such an accomplished photographer. I have the zeal and determination and am open and receptive to all that this opportunity has to offer. My mind runs wild with the creative opportunities available in Bhutan and the skills would be invaluable worldwide. Winning this competition would be the next step towards something great, but even the idea of it pulls me to better my photography skills outside of winning this competition.
