Glass, Lace and the Grand Canal

Off we went to explore some of the other islands. First stop Murano! Well known for its hand blown glass. We came upon a shop where we watched glass being shaped. Very interesting to see something slowly take shape. Then we were off to explore the little shops to find some treasures for those back home. It's amazing to see some of the works of art from big and small that are all made of glass. Many beauties were purchased and will be making the trek back home.
Next stop Burano! Well known for its hand made lace. The striking colors of the buildings were my favorite. They were all very vibrant. And as most of you know I like color in photos!!
After venturing back to Venezia we meandered thru the streets to see what we could see. We found a cute little place to stop and have a glass of wine and some caprese. And then walked some more.
After dinner we caught the water bus and took the big tour of the Grand Canal. It was very interesting to see other parts of Venice besides the main touristy area we are staying in. We even saw a few cars in the industrial area of the island which is rare. Boats are their main source of transportation.
It's still very surreal to be strolling around Venice, Italy. We have one more full day here before moving on.
Ciao!!! Until tomorrow!
P.S. More Gelato was had! 🍨
