Understanding a Culture through Food - La Dolce Vita

If I had only a few word to descibe Rome, those would be it : Dolce vita ('d?lt?? 'vi?t?, Italian 'dolt?e 'vita) — n. a life of luxury [Italian, literally: sweet life]. Rome is THE city to wake up late to a steamy shot of espresso and a fresh pasticcera, explore the city, one gelato at a time, and to eat out at a fancy restaurant a 9PM before hitting the dance floors. Walking lazily across the capital and discovering every crook and nook of the town’s delicious culinary diversity can take all of your time. The flow of amazingly good food and coffee is seemingly endless and can keep you busy for days, no kidding. When you finally have to leave, you think of your coin at the bottom of the Trevi fountain and you hope that the legend of its water is true. And when you go through airline security, with a full tummy and a few pounds more, you can’t help but remember the taste of pastas and pizzas.
