The underwater world is an aspect of travel explored by few & captured by even less. Entering it is like stepping into a foreign place where everything is unknown - what you discover is both magical and surreal.
Traveling has been my primary passion for over a decade. It introduced me to myself & continually challenges the way I view the world & everything in it. It inspires me to think outside the box, exploring the differences & nuances that make life so interesting. It encourages me to try & bring about positive change. While I have traveled quite extensively, ironically, the more I see the more I realise just how little I have really seen. The list only ever seems to get longer...
Photography has been a wonderfully consuming hobby for me. For years I've wished it to be more, but have never had the courage to discard the security of the M to F 9 to 5 and jump completely into it as a career. Now on the precipice of a major life change, I have cautiously begun that move. Earlier this year I decided the life I want is vastly different, most of the time, to the life I lead... The key issue that needed changing was work. I needed something creative, enjoyable & satisfying.
Having photographed several girlfriends' weddings with positive feedback, I am now planning a career move into photography. Advertising on a local site, I got a few budget bookings to begin increasing my portfolio. In July I enrolled in a Photomedia degree, to expand my knowledge & challenge my skills. My goal is for weddings to eventually replace my 9 to 5 income and travel photography to be a supplementary income.
I believe the greatest lesson's come from experience, being mentored by Jason would be invaluable. That opportunity combined with the wild South Africa - a dream come true!
