Paris. Rue des Belles Feuilles. First day in the “ City of Light” .
The sun was shining high in the blue sky, fuzzy white clouds like a herd of sheeps grazing free.
I took a vintage green jeko bike for a while, in order to reach Trocadéro, the closest underground station, to take the line nine. I left the posh Metropolitan bar on the right, Place de Mexico, Avenue d’ Eylau and in a blink of an eye I arrived.
I didn’t know exactly what I could find since there was my first time.
I jump into the first train A13049 , direction Montreil , colorful fluffy velvet seats, a mix of purple, green, pink, DNA texture on a black background.
An eccentric man closed to me lookin like the "Self-Portrait as Mona Lisa " of Salvador Dalì.
An old book in his dirty hands of colour, A page, A bookmark, A poem : Rue de Seine.
"Station Republique" Stop! Lets start a new adventure!
I was Looking for a map, I walked, I run…boulevards after boulevards.
I walked alone in narrow streets, found small boutiques, wonderful bakeries. There was a golden silent around me.
At the corner of Rue Toudic I found “ Du pain et des Idées” a special “boulangerie” .
I felt like in the Hansel and Gretel film, I saw walls of marzipan, the candy flavor of the traditional baguette, homemade croissants . L’ escargot chocolat pistache was so divine.
I reached Odeon, as a welcome a sparkling fit bronze statue of the red-blooded Danton, leading figure of the French revolution, immediately I ride back in time. When I was thirteen I read about him in the Victor Hugo novel 93, Rebel teenager memories took the control of my mind. I decided to start my revolution and take the right, the direction he indicated me with his outstretched index finger.
I discovered a small door, daze eyes, Galerie Frédéric Got Fine Art, I got completely lost in Steve Mccurry portraits and photographs: ,exciting, thrilling images, colorful background, soul expressions, eyes speaking.
Moments, expressions, emotions. I was captured as a fish in the net…catapulted in other worlds. no words to explain my feelings.
Afganistan, Birmania, Yemen, Cambodia, Pakistan, India, USA.
Countries, Faces, Eyes, Signes, Gestures. I was totally shocked, a bath of light in the ocean of perception. Clarity of color, sharpness of pain.
It was a great day, When I opened my eyes I Had a sentence stuck in my mind: “ AFTER THE FOOD, EDUCATION IS THE PRIMARY NEED OF THE PEOPLE “ Thank you Danton, it was your STRONG SIGNAL message!
