My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Australia | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 5 photos
When people ask me what I am passionate about I reply “photography”. It is what drives me to travel and to experience new places and cultures. One of life’s thrills for me is to see enjoyment in the faces of others as they view my photos and to be able to convey a story to them through photography.
I also have a passion for travel. As I wander through new places, in my mind I am viewing everything through a lens. I can see the image before I take it: the composition and the emotion I want to capture.
My dream job would be as a travel photographer for National Geographic (we can all dream). I feel that photography is what I am meant to be doing with my life. It is a pull from deep down in my gut that I cannot quiet. My mantra is that a day without photography is a day wasted.
As I travel I have realised that it is the culture and people that most impact upon me and make me want to pick up my camera. However, I am conscious of not intruding and only experiencing the culture through the lens.
This scholarship would allow me to learn and grow and provide me with an invaluable experience that would hopefully allow me to become a photographer and to “live photography”.
