Finding magic in the Wild Coast

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

South Africa | Friday, January 11, 2013 | 5 photos

Good day,
I am a 28 year old writer, poet and aspiring photographer. I freelance - as a writer - for magazines and newspapers which include the Mail&Guardian in South Africa. I love traveling. I spent 5 months traveling around India in 2009. I am also an avid camper and outdoor person. I am also a recording artist of rhythm and poetry.

Recently I spent five days hiking and camping in the Wild Coast, Eastern Cape. I was with two friends who discovered the secret magic of the Mpondo people who live on that coast. The pictures I have attached are just a snippet of the magic we got to experience. They are marked from a-e with the captions. My passion is telling human stories through art like photography, poetry and music. This photography experience would be an opportunity for me to showcase my passion while getting to travel and open yet another page of the world book. I am most interested at pictures that tell a story and capture the emotions within the photo.

The Eastern Cape is one of South Africa's beautiful provinces and boasts of having given birth to political icons like Nelson Mandela and international renowed photographer, Koto Bolofo.

Regards.
