Torpedo machine with shape and structure as we know it today was invented by an officer of the Austro-Hungarian Navy, Croat Ivan Blaz Lupis Vukic, 1860. calling it Coast Lifeguard.

Torpedo Factory was built 1853rd as a result of investments of investors from Rijeka. It was metal casting factory and the first product was the anchor, while the secondary activity was repairing steam ships.

Since 1990 caused financial problems for the company Torpedo. The first bankruptcy proceedings were initiated on 23 March 1990 on the Commercial Court in Rijeka. Now this is a place of ruins and many people often talk about it, reminiscing better times...
