A returning traveller.

My passion for photography spawned from a single image taken while on holiday. I was intrigued as to why this one image stood out from the rest and was inspired to pick up an old DLSR which became my window to focus on the smaller, more intimate moments of the world passing around me.
A recent overseas trip allowed me to combine photography with my other passion, conservation. I found that I could use photographs to convey the story of conservationists efforts to preserve wildlife and environment and now employ the image as a tool to encourage a greater respect and knowledge of the world around us, environmentally, but also culturally.
Now, after two years of travel and as I prepare for my next trip I feel I could gain from this experience creatively and professionally. I have provided my photography as a volunteer and now feel I am ready to bridge the gap between amateur and professional. At this stage my confidence in my ability is my biggest barrier to success and as such believe that mentoring under Jason will allow me to progress beyond this, allowing me to share with others the way I see this beautiful world we are part of and the stories which take place within it.
