My name is Ayu Primastuti. I’m from Indonesia. This year I’ll be 20, but I’m still a freshman at a university in my country, Universitas Padjadjaran. Averagely, students at my age are already being a sophomore at university, but I finished my high school in four years. After my junior year at high school, I postponed my senior year and went to the United States instead. I got a scholarship to be an exchange student there for a year.

I’m currently taking communication science as the major of my study. I’ve been taking photography class for the past six months. I honestly have been to a lot of places in the world since I became an exchange student and I took bunch of pictures, but I never realized that photography was a beautiful way to communicate something. Communicating without speaking verbally. And it is a challenge: how to define the right shutter speed, diafragma, and ISO quicky and right before the moments end. I like the adrenaline when we have to capture something that may not be repeated, manually. And since that, I’m in love with photography. And I‘m excitedly interested in going to Oman and being mentored by the master, Jason Edwards.
