My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Australia | Friday, January 11, 2013 | 5 photos
At the age of 15 I picked up my first manual camera and since then i have never looked back. In 2011 at 17 I began to establish what i hope will become a flourishing freelance photography business Todd O'Brien Imagery (toddobrienimagery.com) and I am currently working towards my dream of becoming a travel and surf photographer. I currently study Photography at Deakin University and it is my life. I never go anywhere these days without my camera, the feeling of getting that one perfect shot when everything lines up is what i work for everyday. I have been published in a few magazines but are really looking for an opportunity like this to help me kickstart my career in the industry. I have never had alot of money too travel outside Australia but I jump in my car and travel away from home whenever possible to shoot new landscapes and new people, to further practice my skills in the industry. Currently I am working heavily to be able to afford the gear that i need for this career whilst trying to gain experience but from my remote area it is very hard to find mentors. The opportunity to go on this trip is one in a million and I promise you that if chosen I will not let you down.
