Youth culture is a dirty word

My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Worldwide | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 | 5 photos

the photographs i have chosen are from the 12 of May 2011 , i was taken to an abandon brick factory in Woolongong where skateboarders had built there own skate ramps and blocks with found material
This place was beautiful and i find it amazing how decay and destruction of a once boring place can transform it in to such an interesting place

Hi my names Todd Fordham I’m from the central coast, NSW, Australia and there is nothing that I love more that photography .this would be a dream come true if I was selected for this trip I feel I would grow from the experience
I have been shooting for just over 6 years and still feel so much passion in the photographs I take .I use many different types of cameras from digital to hand rolled B&W to 120 medium format
When I take photographs I am always searching for beauty in things that most people wouldn’t take a second looks at like buildings, bridges ,junk piles. I have also placed myself deep into the skateboarding culture and am constantly shooting tricks or just capturing the culture in the rawest way possible
I believe I have a very unique style of photographing and I would love to be able to use this opportunity to show the world
Thank you
