My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Azerbaijan | Saturday, July 6, 2013 | 5 photos
I liked observing animals, buildings and landscapes since I was a small boy. Unfortunately, I did not keep up with the technological leap towards digital photography, nor I took steps towards learning how to use a professional camera. My interest shifted to literature and and backpacking. When asked by my peers or girlfriend why I didn´t carry a camera along as I traveled, I used to answer that images were stored all in my head. What happened to the 8-year old kid that loved taking pictures?
Is it not too late to get back to an old passion long time neglected?
I think not. It took me 20 years to buy my first semi-professional camera. The coexistence of light and shadow was now intriguing me.
I have enough willpower and passion to endure whatever it is necessary to learn from Jason Edwards. I want to shrug off endless years of lost photo opportunities and then share my experience with fellow amateur photographers, through workshops or attracting brands to sponsor similar scholarsips, albeit in a smaller case in order to bring attention to environmental or social issues. After all, I have previous experience as a salesman and P.R. in Latin America and Mexico.
